The dial of the watch was created as an ode to the track-like surface runners compete on, to pay homage to the Hayward Field track in Eugene, and is embossed on the caseback with the WAC symbol, and unique one of a kind serial number. Featuring low-reflection surface and contrasting gray subdials for enhanced legibility

Inspired by Seiko's first precision chronographs, developed for international sporting competitions in 1964, and its 1969 introduction of "Speedtimer," the world's first automatic self-winding chronograph

This is Seiko's seventeenth year sponsoring the World Athletics Championships, Seiko has 50 plus years of timekeeping experience. The timepiece features the hand-assembled 8R46 movement,
