Breitling Manufacture Caliber 01
Introduced in 2009, the Caliber 01 was Breitling's first fully in-house movement and has become the industry benchmark for chronograph calibers. A column-wheel architecture and vertical clutch deliver precise, smooth chronograph operation — without the hand jumping common to lesser movements.
- COSC-certified chronometer accuracy
- Column-wheel and vertical clutch chronograph
- 70+ hour power reserve on a single barrel
- Up to 346 components, assembled by hand
- 16-year accelerated aging equivalency testing
The Original Pilot's Chronograph
In 1952, Breitling was commissioned by the US Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association to create a wrist-worn instrument for pilots. The result was the Navitimer — a chronograph with a circular slide rule capable of performing flight calculations from fuel consumption to airspeed.
In 1962, astronaut Scott Carpenter wore a specially modified 24-hour Navitimer during his Mercury orbital mission, making it the first Swiss wristwatch in space.
- Debuted in 1952 as the official AOPA pilot's watch
- Circular slide rule for flight calculations
- First Swiss watch in space, worn in 1962
- Available in 41mm, 43mm, and 46mm cases today
Three Worlds. One Purpose.
Every Breitling is born of its environment. The brand's modern identity is organized around three universes that reflect its heritage: the Air of aviation chronographs, the Sea of professional dive instruments, and the Land of sport and style.

A Legendary Future
Breitling is committed to a circular economy and responsible sourcing. The brand's watches increasingly feature traceable "better gold" and lab-grown "better diamonds," and its watch box — the first of its kind — is 100 percent eco-friendly and made from upcycled plastic bottles.
- Traceable, artisanal "better gold" in select references
- Lab-grown diamonds in the Origins and Lady Premier lines
- ECONYL straps woven from recovered fishing nets
- Foldable, reusable watch box made from upcycled plastic
#SquadOnAMission
Breitling's approach to brand partnerships is defined by squads of three — pioneers in their fields who embody the spirit of purpose, action, and style. The formation honors the three-plane formations at the heart of Breitling's aviation heritage.
Current Squad members include Austin Butler, Charlize Theron, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Erling Haaland, Kelly Slater, Stephanie Gilmore, and explorer Bertrand Piccard.
