Prospex 1965 Diver's Modern Re-Interpretation

1965 Diver's Watch Special Edition.

Designed for those who treat life as the ultimate adventure, the Seiko Prospex line meets every challenge with technological excellence and style. Part of a rich legacy of innovation in high-intensity timekeeping, Prospex continues to celebrate a long history of sports watch excellence with recreations and reinterpretations of landmark achievements.

This versatile timepiece reimagines Seiko's 1965 first diver's watch, an automatic timepiece with a then exceptional water resistance of 150 meters. Offering an extraordinarily legible dial and durable enough to become standard equipment on the Japanese Antarctic Research Expedition (JARE), this landmark timepiece propelled Seiko into the forefront of dive watch design.

With contemporary styling and upgraded specifications, this new reinterpretation reflects the look of the 1965 original, but with a sleeker and thinner case designed to fit more comfortably on the wrist. The umber dial, framed by a black one-way rotating elapsed timing bezel, includes a date calendar and LumiBrite hands and markers.

Upgraded from the original, the 24-jewel automatic movement beats at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour, with a power reserve of approximately 70 hours, and can be wound manually or automatically. With dual-curved anti-reflective sapphire crystal, and secure screwdown crown and Special Edition caseback, this high-intensity timepiece follows ISO standards for diving to depths of up to 200 meters, and is crafted of stainless steel with super-hard coating.

200m Water Resistant.

Luxury Watches Luxury Watches Are Lifestyle Accessories A true luxury watch is a symbol of prestige, power, and wealth. While certain brands continually produce a myriad of lines and models, notable premium watchmakers like Rolex keep production low in order to focus on their exquisite quality. Luxury Watches Are Built to Last Aside from obvious engineering and precision differences, collectors would be hard-pressed to find a moderately priced watch that runs strong a year or two after its initial purchase, let alone for a lifetime. Meanwhile, luxury watches are meticulously crafted to a level of mechanical excellence that ensures they can be true heirloom pieces that are passed down from generation to generation. Some luxury watches can take years to produce, which is a true testament to the level of quality that collectors should expect. From effortless movement to precise construction and timeless design, the measure of true luxury watches is their staying power.
