Limited to just 3,000 pieces worldwide, the Seiko Presage Classic Series SPB529 represents a harmonious convergence of traditional Japanese aesthetics and sustainable modern craftsmanship.
The dial showcases "shiracha," a warm brown hue cherished by tea masters during the late Edo period's Bunsei era. Its smoky gradation and silk-inspired texture create a subtle sophistication enhanced by gold-toned hands and markers that seem to float above the textured surface. What sets this limited edition apart is its pioneering use of upcycled leather in the Presage Classic Series. Seiko partnered with REGAL, a distinguished Japanese shoemaker, to transform premium leather offcuts that would otherwise be discarded into straps of exceptional quality.
The 20mm strap features the refined contours and supple character of fine loafer leather, complete with beige decorative stitching that references traditional shoemaking details. A three-fold clasp with push-button release provides secure, comfortable wearing.
The 40.2mm stainless steel case, measuring 13mm in height with a 46mm lug-to-lug span, features a bronze-tone knurled bezel that complements the dial's warmth.
A dual-curved sapphire crystal echoes the dome-shaped dial beneath, while the screwdown exhibition caseback displays the caliber 6R55 movement and LIMITED EDITION engraving with individual numbering. The 24-jewel automatic movement delivers 72 hours of power reserve with manual winding capability, beating at 21,600 vibrations per hour with hacking seconds. An additional calfskin strap provides versatility.
