Custom Design · Made in Eugene Since 1922

From a single idea to something worn for generations

Engagement rings, one-of-a-kind commissions, and heirlooms reborn — designed and crafted entirely in our Eugene workshop.

The In-House Difference

Everything happens
under one roof.

Many jewelers send your design out the door — to a remote modeler, a contract caster, an anonymous bench in another state. We don't. From the first sketch to the final polish, your piece never leaves our building or our hands. No middlemen, no outsourcing, no guesswork.

  • Gemologists

GIA-certified and on-site. Every diamond and gemstone is chosen in person for cut, brilliance, and character — never pulled from a generic catalog.

    In our showroom
  • Designers

A dedicated designer turns your idea into a drawn, considered concept — then refines it with you until it feels unmistakably yours.

  • CAD & Modeling

We build a precise digital model and a wax you can hold, so you can approve scale, profile, and detail before we ever cast a gram of metal.

  • Bench Jewelers

Stones set, surfaces refined, and the piece finished by hand at our own bench — then inspected closely before it ever reaches you.

The Process

Watch an idea become an heirloom.

Follow the custom journey from first conversation to finished piece — with the personal process on the left and the ring’s transformation on the right.

  1. A Skeie's gemologist showing a stone to a client across the showroom counter.

    Stage 1 / 6

    The Conversation

    Personal consultation, Eugene showroom

It starts with what the piece should mean. Bring a sketch, a photo, an heirloom, or just an idea, and we shape the direction together.

  2. A person sketching a custom ring design.

    Stage 2 / 6

    The Sketch

    Concept, proportion and style

Your idea takes its first visible form, rendered by hand until it reflects both your vision and the way you will actually wear it.

  3. A jeweler reviewing a digital model of a ring.

    Stage 3 / 6

    The Digital Model

    Precision before production

A precise 3D model lets you review scale, profile, and prong placement, and approve every detail before anything is made.

  4. A jeweler carving or refining a wax ring model.

    Stage 4 / 6

    The Wax Model

    A preview you can hold

The digital design becomes a wax you can hold, confirming size and presence in the hand before a gram of metal is committed.

  5. A raw casting or jeweler's bench during the casting stage.

    Stage 5 / 6

    The Casting

    Formed in precious metal

The approved model is cast in your chosen metal, with its true form but still raw, ready for setting and finishing by hand.

  6. A finished custom ring being presented.

    Stage 6 / 6

    The Finished Piece

Set, polished and ready to wear

Stones are set, every surface refined, and the piece polished and inspected, ready to be carried forward as part of your story.

No Pressure, No Rush

In person or by video, wherever you are. Come with a finished idea or just a feeling, and we'll take it from there.

What We Create

Custom means more than a ring.

The same hands and the same workshop make engagement rings, commissions from scratch, and heirlooms reborn. One process, three ways to begin — and where it leads is entirely yours.

01 Made For You

Engagement & Wedding Rings

Design the ring you'll never second-guess. Begin with a stone, settle on a silhouette, and shape every detail of the setting alongside our team — from a quiet solitaire to something no one else will ever wear.

02 Uniquely Yours

One-of-a-Kind Commissions

Some pieces carry a story that no catalog could ever hold. We recently created a custom dog pendant for one of our staff members in memory of their beloved dog. It became more than jewelry — it became a way to keep a cherished memory close. From pets and milestones to deeply personal moments, we create custom pieces that honor what matters most.

03 Reborn, Not Retired

Heirloom Redesign

That ring in the drawer can become something you reach for every day. We reset stones you already love into a fresh, modern setting — or gather smaller gems from older pieces into one new heirloom worth passing on.

Meet the Maker

Get to know the person behind your piece.

Custom design here isn't a form you fill out. You sit down with the designer who will actually draw your ring, talk through what matters to you, and stay with the same person — and the same workshop — from first sketch to final polish.

Take a minute to meet them, then come say hello in person.

Common Questions

Good to know before you begin.

How long does a custom piece take?
Most custom pieces come together over several weeks, depending on the design, the stones, and the finishing involved. At your consultation we'll give you a realistic timeline and keep you posted at every stage. Working toward a proposal, wedding, or anniversary? Tell us the date and we'll build the schedule around it.
What diamonds and gemstones can you source?
With GIA-certified gemologists in-house, we source some of the most beautiful diamonds in the world, along with rubies, sapphires, emeralds, tourmalines, aquamarines, moonstone, and more. We work with both natural and lab-grown stones — the options are nearly endless.
Can you use my own diamond or heirloom jewelry?
Absolutely — resetting a stone you already love is one of our favorite things to do. We can rework an heirloom diamond into a new setting, or fold smaller stones from existing pieces into something fresh and meaningful.
Can we design remotely if I'm not in Eugene?
Yes. Our specialists can guide the whole process by phone, email, and video, then deliver your finished piece — fully insured — anywhere in the United States.
What if I don't know the right ring size?
You have a full year to have your ring resized at no charge. In some cases we may recommend remaking the ring in the new size to ensure lasting quality, and our team will guide you to the right fit.
What does a custom piece cost, and is it cared for afterward?
Every commission is quoted individually once the design and materials are settled, and we design to a wide range of budgets — your first consultation is always complimentary. Afterward, stop in anytime for free cleaning and inspection for the life of the piece, and we'll walk you through sizing, warranty, and insurance. Have a question we didn't cover? Get in touch.
