The Seiko SRQ057 commemorates one of motorsport's legendary achievements: the 1971 East African Safari Rally victory of the Seiko-supported Datsun 240Z in one of the world's most punishing races.
Limited to just 500 pieces worldwide, this mechanical chronograph houses the sophisticated 8R48 caliber, featuring 34 jewels, column wheel construction, and vertical clutch mechanism. These premium complications ensure smooth, stutter-free chronograph operation while maintaining efficiency and power reserve during timing operations. The three-pointed hammer system returns all hands to zero with instant synchronization.
The 42mm black-coated stainless steel case creates a stealthy presence, while the dial design echoes the original Datsun 240Z instrument panel with period-correct fonts and the cursive Datsun script logo. The tachymeter bezel, calibrated from 50 to 600 km/h, pays homage to the original 1969 Speedtimer format. Topped with a dual-curved sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, paired with black LWG-certified leather, and finished with an engraved caseback featuring the Datsun logo and limited edition number, this chronograph arrives in a special collector's presentation box.
