Spring Drive remains one of the most remarkable achievements in modern watchmaking.
Neither purely mechanical nor conventionally quartz, Seiko's proprietary Tri-Synchro Regulator harnesses a traditional automatic winding system to power a quartz-controlled regulator, achieving an extraordinary accuracy of +/- 1 second per day while the seconds hand glides in one continuous, silent sweep. The SNR058 puts that technology at the center of a GMT built exclusively for the U.S. market, and everything surrounding it rises to the occasion.
The dial draws its character from the North America Nebula, a stellar formation roughly 2,000 light-years from Earth. A richly textured gradient shifts from warm brown to deep black, produced in the same studio responsible for many Grand Seiko dials. A glossy dual-tone sapphire bezel in brown and black frames the display, while rose-gold accents on the GMT hand, crown, and bezel markings bring warmth to the overall composition. The power reserve indicator, date calendar, and LumiBrite-treated hands and markers round out a dial designed for both beauty and utility.
The Caliber 5R66 Spring Drive GMT movement delivers 72 hours of power reserve with true GMT functionality, allowing independent tracking of a second time zone. The 44.8mm titanium case wears lighter than its dimensions suggest, finished with Seiko's super-hard Diashield coating for scratch resistance, and fitted to a titanium bracelet with toolless micro-adjustment. Sapphire crystal with super-clear coating, screwdown crown and caseback. Water resistant to 100 meters.
