The Seiko SSC947 Speedtimer pays vibrant homage to the legendary "Pogue" chronograph worn by Colonel William R. Pogue during NASA's Skylab mission.
Making it one of the few watches to have ventured beyond Earth's atmosphere. This unique watch captures the bold racing spirit of the 1969 Speedtimer, the world's first automatic chronograph, with a striking yellow sunray dial framed by a bi-directional blue and red aluminum tachymeter bezel. The V192 solar-powered caliber eliminates battery changes while delivering precise chronograph functionality up to 60 minutes in one-fifth second increments, complete with split-time measurement capability.
A 24-hour indicator and power reserve display join the luminous hands and markers on the dynamic dial, while the curved sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating ensures optimal legibility. At 41.4mm in diameter and 13mm thick, the stainless steel case strikes an ideal balance between presence and wearability. The watch maintains 100 meters of water resistance and runs for six months on a full charge from any light source. This is motorsport-inspired horology that combines space race heritage with modern solar technology.
